Kolkata, September 14, 2026 : Piaggio India, the two-wheeler business of the globally renowned Piaggio Group, has further strengthened its presence in West Bengal with the inauguration of a new Vespa and Aprilia touch point at Joys Bike Point in Howrah. The new facility marks another step in Piaggio India’s efforts to expand its retail footprint, enhance customer accessibility and bring its premium two-wheeler brands closer to consumers across key markets.
The new touch point was inaugurated by Gaetano Pignataro, Head of Sales Network Development and Trade Marketing – Piaggio Asia Pacific 2 Wheeler, Piaggio Group, and Ajay Raghuvanshi, Executive Vice President, 2 Wheeler Domestic Business.
Located in Howrah, the new facility will cater to customers across Howrah and the surrounding areas, offering an integrated platform for customers to explore, purchase and experience products from two of Piaggio India’s distinctive brands — Vespa and Aprilia. The facility will provide authorised sales and service support, enabling customers to access both products and after-sales assistance under one roof.

Speaking about the launch of Vespa and Aprilia Gaentano Pignataro, Head of sales network development and Trade Marketing, Piaggo Asia Pacific 2 Wheeler, Piaggo Group “Piaggio Group in India has understood that there is very good potential, and the company believes a lot in the Indian market. There are extensive efforts focused on expansion, with Kolkata being one of the key targets we have been looking forward to for a long time. We are very pleased to partner with Joy’s Bike to achieve this important milestone and take on this big challenge, which marks a strong new beginning for our expansion across Kolkata and the entire Eastern region. After a long period, Piaggio has started growing again, and while we are happy with these positive results, we know we can do much more. Nationwide, we are on track to close the year with 250 dealerships by December, having already achieved around 240 outlets to date.”
The new touch point brings together two brands with distinct identities and propositions. Vespa, with its Italian heritage and unmistakable design language, has evolved beyond being a means of mobility to become a globally recognised lifestyle brand. Its products combine distinctive styling, premium detailing and contemporary technology, appealing to customers seeking a combination of design, individuality and everyday usability.

Aprilia, meanwhile, has built a strong identity around performance, technology, sporty design and riding excitement. The brand’s portfolio caters to customers looking for a more dynamic and performance-oriented two-wheeler experience. The availability of both brands at the new Howrah touch point is expected to offer customers a wider choice across the premium two-wheeler segment.
Beyond product availability, Piaggio India has been focusing on creating a stronger customer journey through its expanding network of authorised dealerships and touch points. The new facility is designed to provide customers with a more accessible environment to understand the products, experience the brands and receive professional support throughout their ownership journey.
The inauguration also underlines the growing importance of West Bengal as a market for premium two-wheelers. With changing consumer preferences and increasing demand for products that combine mobility with design, technology and lifestyle appeal, markets beyond central Kolkata are emerging as important growth opportunities.
With the addition of the new touch point, Piaggio India continues to focus on strengthening its dealership network and enhancing customer engagement across key markets.
